Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

3 tablespoons olive oil

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (for garnish)

Fresh thyme leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated.

Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Make the Maple Glaze: While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

Combine and Glaze: Once the Brussels sprouts are roasted, remove them from the oven and drizzle the maple glaze over the hot Brussels sprouts. Toss gently to combine.

Serve and Garnish: Transfer the glazed Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts and fresh thyme leaves for garnish before serving.

Enjoy! These sweet and savory Brussels sprouts make a perfect side dish for any meal!
