Ingredients

1 small green cabbage, finely chopped

1 pound ground turkey

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper (any color), chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium for healthier option)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients: Start by washing and chopping the cabbage, dicing the onion, and mincing the garlic. Chop the bell pepper and slice the green onions for later garnishing.

Cook Turkey: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until browned and fully cooked. Season with smoked paprika, cumin, and salt and pepper. Once cooked, remove the turkey from the skillet and set it aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the diced onion and garlic, sautéing for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent. Then, add the chopped bell pepper, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.

Add Cabbage: Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, stirring well to combine with the onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-8 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally. If needed, add a splash of water to help the cabbage steam.

Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked turkey to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes. Mix everything well and allow the mixture to cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the sautéed cabbage and turkey mix to serving dishes. Garnish with sliced green onions. Enjoy your savory skillet meal!
