Ingredients

1 cup pecan halves

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 cups puffed rice cereal

1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Toast the Pecans: In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the pecan halves. Toast them for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and let them cool slightly.

Make the Praline Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a gentle boil. Allow it to boil for 2-3 minutes without stirring until the mixture turns a light amber color.

Add Cream and Vanilla: Carefully remove the saucepan from heat and slowly add the heavy cream (be cautious as it may bubble up). Stir until well combined, then add the vanilla extract. Return to low heat if needed to keep warm.

Combine Cereal and Marshmallows: In a large mixing bowl, combine the puffed rice cereal and mini marshmallows. Pour the warm praline mixture over the cereal and marshmallows, stirring quickly to coat everything evenly.

Add Pecans: Gently fold in the toasted pecans until well incorporated.

Shape the Crunch: Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and use a spatula to spread it into an even layer. You can also use your hands (dampened to prevent sticking) to press it down firmly.

Cool Completely: Allow the praline crunch to cool at room temperature until it hardens, about 1-2 hours.

Cut and Serve: Once set, break or cut the praline crunch into squares or bars. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
