Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup Oreo cookie crumbs (about 10-12 Oreos)

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Extra crushed Oreos for rolling (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Flour: Start by heat-treating the flour to make it safe for eating. Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, stirring halfway through. Allow to cool completely.

Mix Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Flavorings: Add the vanilla extract and salt to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.

Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the heat-treated flour until just combined. It should be crumbly but hold together when pressed.

Fold in Cookie Crumbs and Chips: Gently fold in the Oreo cookie crumbs and mini chocolate chips, ensuring an even distribution throughout the dough.

Form the Balls: Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, scoop out portions of the dough and roll them into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Chill to Set: Place the cookie dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If desired, roll the balls in extra crushed Oreos for a fun coating. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Enjoy: Once chilled, serve immediately, or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week!
