Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons soy sauce (preferably low sodium)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring that it is fully coated. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or seal the bag, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to penetrate the fish.

Preheat the Oven: When you are ready to cook, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Bake the Salmon: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Remove the salmon from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later. Place the fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Glaze the Salmon: While the salmon is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Finish the Dish: Once the salmon is done baking, remove it from the oven and brush the thickened glaze over the fillets, ensuring they are well coated.

Serve: Plate the salmon and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of freshness.
