Ingredients

For the Beef Marinade:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 for optimal flavor)

¼ cup soy sauce

2 tbsp brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) - adjust to taste

For the Bowl:

3 cups cooked jasmine rice (or brown rice)

2 cups broccoli florets

1 cup shredded carrots

1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

4 boiled eggs (optional; for topping)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef:

In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and gochujang. Stir well to dissolve the sugar. Add ground beef, and mix until fully coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for enhanced flavor).

      Prepare the Vegetables:

While the beef is marinating, steam the broccoli florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes. In the last minute, add the shredded carrots and red bell pepper to the steaming basket to soften slightly. Set aside.

          Cook the Beef:

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the marinated ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Ensure that it’s fully cooked through.

              Assemble the Bowls:

In each bowl, start with a base of cooked jasmine rice. Top with the sautéed ground beef, followed by steamed broccoli, shredded carrots, and red bell pepper.

                  Add Toppings:

Optional: Slice boiled eggs in half and place on top of each bowl. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an extra crunch and flavor.

                      Serve:

Enjoy your Korean beef bowls hot, mixing everything together for a delicious burst of flavor with every bite!
