Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup pickled jalapenos, chopped (adjust to taste)

1 12-ounce bottle or can of your favorite beer (lager or pale ale works best)

1/4 cup honey (or brown sugar)

1/4 cup melted butter (plus extra for brushing)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.

Add Cheese and Jalapenos: Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped jalapenos into the dry mixture, ensuring even distribution.

Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the beer, honey (or brown sugar), and melted butter together until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently with a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Transfer to Loaf Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Brush a bit of melted butter on the surface for a golden crust.

Bake: Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Once baked, remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve: Slice while warm, enjoy with butter, or serve alongside your favorite soups or chili for the ultimate comfort food experience!
