Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe

1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and cornstarch. Whisk until well blended. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, coating them evenly. Let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

    Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, remove the chicken from the marinade (reserve the marinade for later) and sear it in the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until the chicken is browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper.

      Create the Sauce: Once the chicken is browned, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it cook for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

        Glaze the Chicken: Reduce the heat to low and return the chicken to the skillet. Coat the chicken in the thickened sauce, cooking for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

          Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if using. Serve the Honey Garlic Chicken over rice or with steamed vegetables to soak up the delicious sauce.
