Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

2 cups frozen hashbrowns

½ cup green bell pepper, diced (optional)

½ cup corn (optional)

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (for topping)

¼ cup green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain excess grease.

Season the Mixture: Stir in the paprika, salt, and black pepper. Combine well. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.

Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Mix until smooth. Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese and mix well.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the cooked beef mixture, frozen hashbrowns, the cream soup mixture, and, if using, diced green bell pepper and corn. Stir until everything is evenly coated.

Assemble the Casserole: Pour the hashbrown mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.

Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
