Ingredients

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional, for topping)

Extra chocolate for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Cream the Peanut Butter and Butter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and softened butter. Using an electric mixer, beat until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.

Add Sugars and Eggs: Gradually mix in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.

Pour and Spread: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and use a spatula to spread it evenly to the edges. If using, sprinkle the chopped peanuts on top.

Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool and Drizzle: Allow the squares to cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 15-20 minutes. If desired, melt some chocolate and drizzle it over the top for an extra touch of decadence.

Slice and Serve: Once cooled completely, slice into squares. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
