Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup almond flour (or any nut flour)

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (or dried fruit for a healthier option)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.

In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and sea salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until fully incorporated. You'll end up with a thick mixture.

Fold in the chopped walnuts and dark chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Using your hands, scoop out a tablespoon-sized amount of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place the rolled energy bite on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Repeat this process with the remaining mixture, spacing the energy bites about an inch apart.

Once you have formed all the bites, place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 1-2 hours, or until solid.

Once frozen, transfer the energy bites to an airtight container or zip-top bag for easy storage. They can be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Whenever you need a quick snack or energy boost, grab a few and enjoy!
