1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (plus extra for topping)

½ teaspoon salt

1 large egg

¾ cup whole milk

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup powdered sugar (for icing)

2-3 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.

    Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

      Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix together the egg, whole milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

        Combine wet and dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

          Transfer to loaf pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

            Sprinkle topping: In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the loaf pan.
