Ingredients

1 box (19.5 oz) brownie mix (plus ingredients as per package instructions)

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread

1 cup crushed walnuts (optional)

1 cup mini chocolate chips

Fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Bake the Brownies: Preheat the oven according to the brownie mix instructions. Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray or parchment paper. Prepare the brownie batter as per the package instructions and spread it evenly into the prepared pan. Bake according to the package directions. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

Prepare the Cream Layer: In a large mixing bowl, add the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until stiff peaks form. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and chocolate hazelnut spread until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until combined.

Layer the Cake: Once the brownies are completely cool, cut them into two equal halves (if you've made a thicker brownie). Place one half as the base layer in a rectangular serving dish. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer. If desired, sprinkle half of the crushed walnuts and mini chocolate chips over the cream layer.

Repeat Layers: Place the second brownie half on top of the cream layer. Spread the remaining cream cheese mixture over the second brownie layer. Top with the remaining crushed walnuts and chocolate chips for added texture.

Chill: Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the cake to firm up.

Serve: Before serving, garnish with fresh berries on top for a touch of color and freshness. Cut into squares and enjoy the richness of this decadent brownie refrigerator cake!
