Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Zest of 1 large orange

2 tablespoons fresh orange juice

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips

Extra orange zest for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the Butters and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed.

Add Egg and Flavor: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in White Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the white chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop the Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake the Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set but still soft. They may look slightly underbaked, and that’s okay; they will firm up as they cool.

Cool and Garnish: Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, sprinkle some extra orange zest on top for added flavor.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve these soft, chewy Creamsicle Orange Cookies warm or at room temperature. Enjoy the delicious taste of summer in every bite!
