Ingredients

2 (3 oz) packages of cranberry-flavored gelatin

2 cups boiling water

1 cup cold water

1 (15 oz) can whole berry cranberry sauce

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

1 cup mini marshmallows

1 cup diced fresh apples (peeled)

1 cup whipped topping or whipped cream

Instructions

Dissolve Gelatin: In a medium bowl, dissolve the cranberry-flavored gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir well until completely dissolved.

Add Cold Water: Once the gelatin mixture is dissolved, stir in 1 cup of cold water and mix thoroughly.

Blend in Cranberry Sauce: Add the whole berry cranberry sauce to the gelatin mixture. Stir until well combined.

Chill Base Layer: Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch serving dish and refrigerate it for about 1-2 hours, until it’s slightly thickened but not completely set.

Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the chopped pecans or walnuts, mini marshmallows, and diced apples, mixing well to combine.

Combine Layers: Once the gelatin mixture is slightly thickened, gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the gelatin until evenly distributed.

Set the Salad: Return the dish to the refrigerator and let it set for an additional 2-4 hours, or until firm.

Top and Serve: Just before serving, fold in the whipped topping or whipped cream to lighten the salad. Serve chilled, either scooping directly from the dish or cutting into squares.
