Ingredients

1 pound fresh strawberries (preferably large and ripe)

8 ounces high-quality dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher)

2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional, for added sheen)

Sea salt or pink Himalayan salt (for garnish, optional)

White chocolate or colored chocolate (for drizzling, optional)

Instructions

Prep the Strawberries: Wash the strawberries gently under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Ensure they are completely dry, as any moisture can affect the chocolate coating.

Melt the Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and coconut oil (if using). Set the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and stir occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can microwave the mixture in short intervals (15-30 seconds), stirring in between until melted.

Dip the Strawberries: Hold a strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, covering about two-thirds of the berry. Gently twist the strawberry while pulling it out to let any excess chocolate drip off.

Set on Wax Paper: Place the dipped strawberry on a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper. Continue the process with the remaining strawberries.

Add Garnishes (optional): If you want to add a touch of flair, melt a small amount of white chocolate or colored chocolate. Using a fork or piping bag, drizzle it over the chocolate-covered strawberries. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top for a salty-sweet contrast.

Chill: Once all strawberries are dipped and garnished, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set.

Serve and Enjoy: Your decadent dark chocolate-covered strawberries are now ready! Serve them fresh on a platter and enjoy this delightful treat.
