Ingredients

2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh berries or fruit toppings (optional)

Butter, melted (for brushing)

Optional: 1 tablespoon lemon zest (for a citrus kick)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Roll out one can of crescent roll dough into the bottom of the greased baking dish. Gently press the seams together to create an even layer.

Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs. Beat with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add in the sour cream and mix until fully combined. If you’d like a hint of citrus flavor, add the lemon zest here.

Combine Layers: Pour the cheesecake mixture over the crescent roll base in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Top with Second Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and lay it over the cheesecake filling. Be careful to cover it evenly. You can pinch the seams together again to seal the layers.

Brush with Butter: Brush the top layer with melted butter to enhance the golden crust.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.

Cool and Serve: Once done, allow it to cool at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes. Dust the top with powdered sugar and, if desired, top with fresh berries or any fruit of your choice before serving.

Slice and Enjoy: Cut into squares and serve warm or chilled. Enjoy your decadent dessert!
