Ingredients

For the Apple Filling:

3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

For the Crumble Topping:

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans), optional

For Assembly:

12 mini phyllo dough cups (store-bought or homemade)

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Apple Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine diced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Toss until the apples are evenly coated. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.

Make the Crumble Topping: In another bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and chopped nuts (if using). Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly and well combined.

Assemble the Cups: Place the mini phyllo dough cups on a baking sheet. Spoon a generous portion of the apple filling into each cup, filling them about 3/4 full. Top each filled cup with a tablespoon of the crumble mixture.

Bake: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crumble topping is golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Allow the baked apple crumble cups to cool for a few minutes before serving. For an indulgent touch, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
