1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup diced apples (about 1 large apple, peeled and cored)

1/2 cup raisins or chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until well mixed.

      Cream Butter and Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined and smooth.
